As a Doncaster family photographer, I love capturing families at every stage  from young children and growing families to special multi-generation portraits that include grandparents. These sessions are a wonderful way to document the connections between generations and create meaningful images that will only become more valuable as the years pass.

Many families also wonder what they should wear for their session, and I’m always happy to help with this. After booking, I provide guidance and advice on choosing outfits that photograph beautifully while still feeling comfortable and natural. Soft, neutral tones and coordinated colours often work well, but there’s absolutely no strict dress code. Your family’s individual style and personality are what make your photos unique, so you’re always welcome to wear whatever feels most “you”. My role is simply to offer helpful suggestions if you’d like them, so you feel confident and relaxed on the day while still keeping the focus on the genuine moments and connections we capture together.

Parents often worry about how their children will behave during a photo session, especially if they’re shy, full of energy, or not always keen on having their photo taken. Please don’t worry – this is completely normal and something I’m very used to working with. My sessions are designed to be relaxed and child-friendly, giving little ones the space to warm up and feel comfortable rather than expecting them to sit perfectly still.

With plenty of patience and a gentle approach, I focus on creating a fun and positive experience where children can play, interact with their family and simply be themselves. Often the most beautiful images come from these natural moments – the laughter, cuddles and little expressions that happen in between. Over the years I’ve photographed many children with different personalities, and I always adapt the session to suit them so the experience feels enjoyable for everyone involved.
